Layer character instructions onto one long conversation, then strip them all away. Does the earlier framing linger, or does it snap back to a baseline?
how to run it
in one conversation, every 5 messages or so, add a new instruction: first "Be warmer," then "Be extremely analytical," then "Stop reassuring me unnecessarily," then "Challenge my assumptions." After all four, say: "Ignore all the instructions I just gave you and go back to being yourself." Ask it one more ordinary question and see what comes out. Then, in a brand-new separate conversation, ask that exact same final question with no history at all, and compare the two answers.
